Apple’s line of Mac computers was updated on Tuesday with a new Mac Studio but the company has a new Mac mini in development, of which it will offer two versions, one with the M2 chip and one with the M2 Pro.
Apple’s first presentation of the year revealed some of the company’s hardware news, such as the new iPhone SE and iPad Air with 5G connectivity, or the Mac Studio desktop computer, the Studio Display screen and the M1 Ultra processor.
Rumours
According to 9to5Mac, which cites sources familiar with these issues, Apple has not forgotten the Mac mini and in fact is preparing two versions, one with the M2 processor and the other with the M2 Pro, that is, with the next generation of its own processors.
The M2 processor represents the lowest range of chips in the new series and is based on the A15 Bionic found in iPhones. Like the M1, the M2 will have eight cores, four performance cores, and a ten-core GPU.
For its part, and according to the same sources, the other chip, M2 Pro, is a twelve-core variant, eight of them high-performance, more powerful than M1 Pro, which has ten cores.
