WhatsApp is already working to improve its multi-device support and finally allow the same account to be used on two smartphones at the same time. The beta 2.22.10.11 for Android shows the first signs of the function to link a new mobile device to the WhatsApp account.

There is a new section called “Register device as a partner” that will appear when trying to open WhatsApp on a new mobile device.

WhatsApp Multi-device Two Smartphones At The Same Time

This screen will show the steps to follow to make the link, the same ones that are already known to link WhatsApp with a computer: in the main account, go to Settings, open the Linked devices menu, and scan the QR code that will appear on the screen of the secondary team.

After this process, it will be possible to use the same WhatsApp account on a second smartphone. An important detail to note is that this improvement in multi-device support will allow, in theory, to use a tablet as a secondary WhatsApp device.

However, as exciting as the report may be, there is still no estimated date for the arrival of support for two mobile devices in WhatsApp. The feature is still in development and it will likely be a while before we see it officially rolled out.

Whatsapp Multi-Device Improved 2 0

Multi-device support came to WhatsApp in the middle of last year, but with the limitation that it only allows linking desktop or web sessions, leaving other mobile devices out. Towards the end of 2021, multi-device support came out of testing, reaching all users.

Even since then there has been talking of multi-device support 2.0, whose main novelty would be precisely that, allowing the use of the same WhatsApp account on two smartphones or mobile devices at the same time. Several months have passed since that first report, and now more details have finally appeared, although it seems that the wait will still be long.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp has already presented its Communities and its new universal player, while working on other new features such as hiding the last connection to specific contacts and an easier way to send messages to contacts not saved in the agenda.
