WhatsApp: soon you can transfer your chats from an Android phone to iPhone

A few months ago, a WhatsApp beta revealed the option to move chats from iPhone to Android. However, images have just been shown showing that the messaging platform is already working on migrating conversations from Android to iOS.

The specialized portal WABetaInfo indicates that WhatsApp developers are finally close to delivering the migration of chat history between Android and iOS devices. That was revealed by the found source code of WhatsApp 22.2.74 beta for iOS.

With Import History, the user will be able to transfer their chats stored on a phone with an Android system when they first install the WhatsApp application on their new iPhone. This function could only work when you start the app for the first time.

Subsequently, it will be necessary to have both devices nearby and that the Android phone has the Move to iOS application, Apple’s tool for transferring content available in the Play Store.

As you can see in this screenshot, WhatsApp will ask you for permission to import chat history before starting the process. After allowing to restore conversations from Android phone to iPhone, you need to wait for the data migration to finish. It is a process very similar to the one we find when restoring a backup.

At the moment, it is not known when this WhatsApp functionality will be available to all users and the operating systems that will be compatible are unknown.
