The platform not only allows you to send text messages, but also emojis, stickers, photos, and, of course, popular voice messages. One of the reasons why you have chosen to remove audio from your conversations is that these, like images, can take up a lot of space on your phone, especially if they are long.

Other times, certain memory freeing applications may suggest you delete the largest files, among which you can find a forwarded or repeated WhatsApp audio. If you’re not careful, you could end up deleting something without real intent.

It is worth mentioning that this method is only compatible with Android since there are very different tricks for iPhone.

How to recover deleted WhatsApp audios

The easiest and most effective way to recover WhatsApp audio is through the Audio folder of the same application. For this, we will need a file management app or, failing that, connect our Android phone to a PC or laptop to view its content from there.

If your phone doesn’t have a decent file manager (most do), you can choose to download an app that will serve this purpose. One of the most viable options is File Manager, available on the Play Store.

Once you have your file manager ready, just follow these steps and navigate as indicated here:

Go to Internal Storage
Locate and enter the WhatsApp folder
Find the Media folder
Inside it, you will find two folders: WhatsApp Voice Notes and WhatsApp Audio

WhatsApp Voice Notes

These two folders have different purposes. WhatsApp Voice Notes contains all the WhatsApp audios that you have recorded from the same application. They will be sorted by folders according to date. It may be difficult to find audio in all that record (especially if you usually record many voice messages), but you can be guided by the name of each file, which will have a format indicating the day and time they were recorded.

The other folder, WhatsApp Audio, contains all the audio that you have sent or received, but that was recorded outside of the WhatsApp app. These usually appear in chats with a different interface (usually with the orange media icon). If you are looking for a forwarded voice message from another conversation or app, then you should go into this folder. If you sent it, you should look for it in the WhatsApp Audio > Sent folder.

That would be all. You should know that this is the most effective way to recover WhatsApp audio and the one that involves the fewest risks since it does not require installing strange or third-party applications (an action that you should not take for such a simple task). Remember that all the audios from the app will appear here even if they were deleted in your chats.
