The trailer for Lightyear, a Toy Story spin-off, has been released by Disney. Toy Story, considered a masterpiece of animated cinema, had its first instalment in 1995. The new film, set to be released next year, focuses on the character of astronaut Buzz Lightyear, with the exception that the voice will not be provided by Tim Allen, as in previous Pixar films, but by Chris Evans.
“The phrase ‘a dream come true’ is frequently used, but it has never meant more to me in my life. Anyone who knows me knows that I am a huge fan of animated films “Evans, who was identified as a Toy Story fan, said “I can’t believe I’m a part of the Pixar family and get to collaborate with these truly brilliant artists who tell stories like no one else. Observing them at work is nothing short of a miracle. “Every day, I pinch myself,” he added.
Lightyear is directed by Angus MacLane, who also directed Toy Story Horror and Finding Dory for Pixar. He stated on the plot of this storey detached from the main trunk of the saga, “it is the Buzz Lightyear movie.” “He is that character, but as a young pilot and ‘ranger’ in space, not as a toy.” The toy astronaut is based on a character from a science fiction franchise who was a captain of the Intergalactic Alliance’s Universe Protection Unit.
“If the core elements of what Buzz is were correct, you’d want to make sure he had a laser, rocket legs, and a recognisable antagonist at some point,” MacLane added.
The film will be released in theatres in 2022, and it has already raised questions about whether a sequel will be made with the cowboy Woody, the other protagonist of Toy Story.
