A lost island, a group of young people with problems and a foundation that is not what it seems. These are the keys to Welcome to Eden, the new Netflix teen series that premieres this Friday, May 6. From that day on, we will meet Zoa ( Amaia Aberasturi ) and her companions on what they propose as the trip of their lives, but what they don’t know is that this adventure can change them forever.

Created by Joaquín Górriz and Guillermo López, the streaming platform’s new teen series has all the ingredients to get you hooked. You could say that Welcome to Eden is a mix of Elite and Lost. As you can see in the exclusive clip above these lines, the protagonists of the series arrive on a desert island ready to give everything in what is supposed to be the party of their lives.

If you have liked series like Fair or Baby, we are sure that Welcome to Eden will be your next obsession. Next, we tell you the reasons why from May 6 you will want to visit Eden.

THE PLOT AND ITS ENIGMAS

From the first minute, the series starring Amaia Salamanca or Ana Mena, among others, traps you in its enigmatic story. The plot is full of mystery that is overcome in each chapter. As the official synopsis says, ” paradise is not really what it seems…” And it is that the protagonists think that they are going to live a unique party and fun experience, but what they do not know is that this trip is going to end in an unexpected way.

As the episodes go by, viewers will ask themselves many questions such as: What is the blue drink that they have been given? What exactly is the Eden Foundation? Will the protagonists return to their homes? Little by little these questions will be answered while other mysteries are opened.

A TEEN THRILLER

It is clear that the main attraction of Welcome to Eden is its qualification as a teen thriller. But, is it different from the rest of the series of this genre? The truth is yes. And it is that, apart from the fact that the series takes place on an isolated island, the plot is far from what we are used to seeing.

Welcome to Eden stands out because its plot focuses mainly on the “survival” of its protagonists, which is why it is very reminiscent of Lost – saving the distances. Although it is true that there are romances and relationships between the protagonists, the highlight of Welcome to Eden is the intrigue and suspense in its eight episodes.

A VERY DIVERSE CAST

Another of the strengths of Welcome to Eden is its wide and varied cast. Welcome to Eden is a series that, in addition to entertaining, gives visibility to various groups such as mute people or LGTBI. Begoña Vargas acknowledged in an interview that she learned sign language to be able to play Bel, her character in the series that she has a friendly relationship with a mute person.

Apart from the actresses mentioned above, the cast is completed by: the well-known Mexican singer Belinda Peregrín , Lola Rodríguez ( Veneno ), Sergio Momo ( Elite ), Berta Vázquez ( Vis a vis ), Tomy Aguilera ( SKAM Spain ), Albert Baró ( Serve and protect ), the Argentinian Guillermo Pfening ( Foodie Love ), Diego Garisa, Dariam Coco , Irene Dev, Álex Pastrana ( Elite ) and Berta Castañé, among others.

CHARMING LOCATION

Welcome to Edén has several locations such as Barcelona, San Sebastián, Teruel or Lanzarote. Perfectly chosen locations that fit what happens in each episode. If there is one to highlight, it would undoubtedly be the beach area and its rocks. A sensational location where the party takes place.

However, not only the beach stands out. The idyllic area where the Eden Foundation is located will also impress viewers. In addition, especially this location becomes one more character in the series and plays an important role in the plot.

Remember: this Friday you have an appointment with Zoa and company to discover Eden. Welcome to Eden will be available on Netflix starting May 6.
