Google detected a serious vulnerability in the security of the Chrome browser, for which it urgently recommended its users install the new emergency update created to protect its public from any risk around their personal data.

According to the company itself, it is being updated to version 99.0.4844.84 on Windows, Mac, and Linux due to a major flaw caused by an exploit for CVE-2022-1096.

“Access to details about bugs and links will remain restricted until most users are updated with a fix. We will also keep the restrictions if the bug exists in a third-party library that other projects similarly rely on, but have not yet been fixed.”

What exactly was the flaw that left the seeker vulnerable?

The flaw in Google is about an exploit, an attack that takes advantage of the vulnerability, for CV-2022-1096. Specifically, there is talk of a type of confusion in V8, the Chrome component that is responsible for processing JavaScript code.
