Xiaomi has launched a device capable of controlling the opening and closing of curtains automatically that is transportable and can be installed in any room in the home.
Mijia Curtain Companion is a ‘gadget’ that hangs on the curtain rod to be able to move the curtain by remote control, either through voice commands -it is compatible with Xiaomi’s assistant, Xiao Ai- or from the phone mobile.
This product, available on Xiaomi’s patronage or ‘crowdfunding’ store, YouPin, has several rails and can be adapted to different bar formats: rounded, square or ‘I’-shaped.

For this reason, it is easy to install, since it only has to be hooked on the curtain rod and it is not necessary to disassemble it for installation. In addition, it can be hidden behind the fabric so that it does not break the aesthetics of the home.
From this Xiaomi page, it is indicated that this product is capable of adapting to the needs of users and can adjust the opening and closing ratio.
It also has a light sensor and can be set to work in wake-up mode via its own Mijia app with Bluetooth connectivity so that the curtains open or close at a certain time of day.
In addition, this device, which supports a weight of up to 12 kg of fabric, has a smart function that closes the shades slowly to relieve eye strain and protect privacy.
Its built-in battery, which is 6,400 mAh, is capable of lasting up to six months, and four months in normal mode, which gives it great autonomy. At the moment Mijia Curtain Companion is priced at 299 yuan, around 43 euros to change, although its official price is 349 yuan (about 50 euros).
