The Delhi administration has imposed a weekend curfew in the national capital from Friday 10 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m. due to an increase in Covid cases.
Except for those in the Essential Services category, all employees of government agencies will be shifted to “Work From Home” mode.
Addressing the media, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said the Omicron type of coronavirus has a lesser impact but urged people to remain vigilant. Additionally, he stated that bus and metro services will operate at full capacity beginning immediately, but that passengers must rigorously respect to the mask requirement and other Covid safety standards.
Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi’s Chief Minister, tests positive for coronavirus.
He cautioned people of Delhi against leaving their houses on Saturday and Sunday during the curfew period. “Do not leave the house except in an emergency,” he said.
“With the exception of those providing critical services, all Delhi government workers would work from home, while private offices will operate at half capacity,” Sisodia added.
This follows a meeting earlier this morning in which the Delhi administration discussed the Covid problem.
