India continues to see an increase in COVID-19 infections, with the government reporting 37,379 new cases and 124 fatalities on Tuesday, 4 January.
So far, 1,892 instances of the coronavirus variant Omicron have been found throughout India’s 23 states and union territories. While Maharashtra leads the way with 568 Omicron instances to far, Delhi follows closely behind with 382 cases.
India began vaccines for youngsters aged 15-18 on Monday and has already vaccinated over 40 lakh children.
