The head of the American company Tesla Elon Musk announced the creation of a humanoid robot Tesla Bot. An android prototype could appear as early as 2022, Musk said at Tesla-sponsored Artificial Intelligence Day on Thursday, August 19. Tesla Bot will do work related to neural networks and the new Dojo supercomputer, he said.

Tesla Bot will be able to perform dangerous, repetitive and boring tasks and will have a profound impact on the economy , Mas said, explaining that people will be able to choose whether to do physical work or not. With what the company calls a “fully autonomous computer” or FSDC (Full Self-Driving Computer) processor, Dojo and neural networks that recognize the world and understand how to navigate it, it makes sense to give this robot a humanoid form, the businessman added.

The robot will be about 173 cm high and weigh 57 kg. Instead of a face, he will have a screen on which useful information will be displayed. The android will be able to move at a speed of 8 km / h, and its vision will be provided by cameras for self-driving Tesla cars.

Ultra-fast learning computer

Tesla also unveiled chips for training its automated control system at the presentation. The company’s director, Ganesh Venkataramanan, said that a few years ago he asked one of his engineers to develop an ultra-fast learning computer, so the Dojo project was launched.

The new computer system should be ready for use next year.
