The president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has reportedly rejected an offer from the US government to evacuate Kyiv, according to a United States (USA) official who was quoted by the AP news agency.

“The fight is here. I need ammunition, not a trip.”Zelensky would have responded, according to a senior US intelligence official with direct knowledge of the conversation.

In fact, on Friday, February 25, several sources told The Washington Post that the Joe Biden Administration is prepared to help Zelenskyy and thus prevent him from being captured and even killed by Russian forces.

In the last hours, the president of Ukraine affirmed that he “disrupted” Russia’s plan, on the third day of the invasion against his country, in a video in which he called on the Russians to pressure Vladimir Putin to stop the war.

This Saturday, February 26, he urged Germany and Hungary to have the “courage” to support a motion to exclude Russia from the Swift international financial transaction system, a key instrument of global finance.

“We have stood our ground and successfully repelled the attacks of the enemies. Fighting continues in many cities and regions of the country (…) but it is our Army that controls Kievand key towns around the capital,” Zelenskyy said in a video posted on Facebook.

“The occupiers wanted to blockade the center of our state and place puppets, like in Donetsk. We managed to disrupt their plan,” added Zelenskyy, who stated that the Russian Army “has not gained any advantage.”
