According to a statement sent to the Securities Market Commission, Mota-Engil has been awarded a contract for the construction, operation, and maintenance of highways in the Mexican state of Nayarit with a total value of 580 million euros (12.4 billion pesos) (CMVM).
The period of construction is planned to last for two years, while the period of maintenance and operation is planned to last for eight years, for a total of ten years, covering a distance of 55 kilometres (km).
Of this distance, 26 kilometres are designated for greenfield construction, 18 kilometres are designated for works to be completed, and 11 kilometres are designated for initial rehabilitation.

In the press statement that Mota-Engil sent out to the market, the company emphasises that this award “confirms” its competence to construct and run infrastructure in Mexico, as well as strengthens the group’s concessions and its order book on the American continent.
