Prophet Row Protest: Protests are going on in the entire country after Friday prayers over the controversial remarks made by former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma against Prophet Mohammad. After Friday afternoon prayers, people took to the streets in many cities from Delhi’s Jama Masjid to Prayagraj, Kolkata, Maharashtra, Bihar, and Jharkhand. The protesters demand that Nupur Sharma and Naveen Jindal be arrested.
Protesters also pelted stones in Ranchi. Vehicles parked on the side of the road were vandalized. During this, the police had to resort to lathi charges and aerial firing to disperse the protesters. After which curfew has been imposed from Sujata Chowk to Faryalal Chowk in Ranchi. The police are appealing people not to come out of their homes. DC Chhavi Ranjan has also appealed to the people to exercise restraint. CM Hemant Soren has also appealed to the people for restraint.
Suddenly the demonstration turned violent and the protesters started pelting stones at the police. Police also used force. To bring the situation under control, the police fired tear gas shells and lathi-charged, in which the DM also got stoned.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was also seen in action amid violent clashes in many districts including Prayagraj. CM Yogi gave strict instructions to the top officials.The Chief Minister has clearly said that wherever efforts are being made to disturb the peace, strict action should be taken. Care should be taken that no one should play with the security system anywhere. Strict monitoring of all places should be done.
There were a lot of ruckuses
in UP, besides Lucknow, the capital of UP, there was a lot of uproar in Deoband, Prayagraj, and Saharanpur. Police have detained protesters in Deoband. Hundreds of people gathered and raised slogans after Friday prayers in the Atala area of Prayagraj, UP.
Kolkata’s Howrah: In Kolkata’s Howrah too, after the Friday prayers, a fierce form of protesters were seen. Here the protesters pelted stones at the police. At the same time, the protesters also targeted the BJP office in Howrah, adjacent to the capital Kolkata. During this, miscreants set fire to the BJP office after vandalizing it. Along with this, arson was done by jamming the roads at many places, due to which the movement came to a complete halt. The protesters also affected the movement of trains by sitting on train tracks at railway stations. Given the protests, internet services have been suspended in the Howrah district till 6 am on June 13. This decision has been taken given the current circumstances.

Amidst the protest after Friday prayers, a big statement from the Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid in Delhi has come to the fore. He said- We do not know who is protesting. It seems to me that these people are people associated with AIMIM or Owaisi.
Shahi Imam said that we have already made it clear that if they want to protest, they can but we will not support them.
Nupur Sharma’s statement The Delhi Police has claimed that the situation in the capital is under control. Police said that we have removed the people from there. At present, the situation is under control. But the police have also said that strict action will be taken against the protesters because the demonstration has been done without permission.

Suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma made controversial remarks on Prophet Mohammad. After that, the controversy escalated. Even Arab countries had condemned Nupur Sharma’s remarks. On the other hand, Delhi Police became strict given Nupur Sharma’s case.
