As time passes and with little information on the table, the anticipation for Hogwarts Legacy grows. The new Harry Potter video game was announced for 2021, but some details in its development caused it to be delayed for a date that has not yet been specified.

The fanatic gamer world of the “House of Magic” was waiting for a specific release date. However, the only thing that was leaked thanks to one of its developers was the possible release date of a second trailer.

The Podcast Now Twitter account confirms in a post that the new trailer for Hogwarts Legacy will be released on March 10. Then, one of the RPG designers, identified as Troy Leavitt responds with the following message: “Neither confirming nor denying the rumour, but it seems to me the right time. I guess we’ll see!”

Its publication in a certain way ensures the date of the advance or suggests that we are at the gates of seeing what is new to come from the long-awaited video game developed by Avalanche Software and distributed by Portkey Games.

Is there a release date?

After the well-known delay of 2021, the video game based on the world of Harry Potter was expected to arrive in 2022. However, according to what Xataka reviews, Colin Moriarty, from the Sacred Symbols podcast, reported that rumours had reached him of an even greater postponement, which is placed in 2023.

Plot and characters

The aforementioned portal publishes that the argument remains a huge question mark. But from the little that has been leaked, based on the only trailer they have published, is that although it will not be based specifically on some of the novels written by JK Rowling, it will have its origins in the world that the same novelist created.

The adventure is set in the famous magic school, just as its name suggests. The protagonist will be an apprentice wizard with extensive abilities and special qualities to learn magic, just like Harry Potter was in the movies and books.

“Only you can decide if you will protect this secret for the good of all, or give in to the temptation of more sinister magic,” says Avalanche Software.

Gameplay

The leaks indicate that the player will have two options. First of all, you will be able to configure your own character to go into the Hogwarts adventures in which you would choose even the house you want to belong to. The person will even be able to select options so that his avatar is transgender if he so wishes, Xataka says in his note.

Secondly, the user would have the possibility to choose any of the protagonists of the Warner Bros saga, without stopping at the typical Harry, Ron or Hermione, since there are rumours that the video game leaves open the possibility of selecting the characters that practice dark magic.

In the case of locations, as the name of the video game already anticipates, the character will have to explore the extensive grounds of Hogwarts, such as its castle, dining room, rooms, classrooms and fantastic animals.

The game is announced for Sony PS4 and PS5 consoles, Microsoft Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S teams, and for PC.
