According to a legal document obtained by TMZ (an American website dedicated to celebrity news), the clothing company ‘Rhode NYC’, founded in 2014, has sued the model for the use of the commercial name of its line of products. beauty.

‘Rhode NYC’ requires that the marketing or sale of any product to the company run by Hailey Bieber be prevented.

In addition, the creators of the brand claim compensation of which the amount is still unknown.

“We did not want to present it, but we had to do it to protect our business,” Purna Khatau and Phoebe Vickers, the founders of the clothing brand, explained through their business’s Instagram account.

In this same statement, the clothing company ‘Rhode NY’ states that Bieber and his new business could easily destroy all the hard work they have put in so far.

The lawsuit appeals to the intervention of the court since the model is a celebrity with more than 45 million followers on Instagram and that, together with the influence of her husband on this same social network, they have generated 1.5 million likes with a single publication.

Finally, the designers maintain that they feel “admiration” for the model and her achievements. They clarify that the creation of that brand is legal for them and that, rather than sue, they would have liked to “celebrate” it, since they are all “entrepreneurial colleagues”, and they wish it “much success”.

However, they also maintain that they hope the lawsuit will prosper even though they know that Hailey Bieber never intended to affect them.
