In April, Aladdin Sane, David Bowie’s record from 1973, will be reissued as a vinyl picture disc and a half-speed mastered black vinyl version.
Songs like “Panic in Detroit,” “Lady Grinning Soul,” “Time,” and “The Jean Genie” can be found on this album, which was first published only ten months after Bowie’s breakthrough album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.

From 192kHz restored masters of the original master tapes, this new pressing of Aladdin Sane was cut on a customized late Neumann VMS80 lathe with “completely recapped electronics” without further processing.
The picture disc is half-speed mastered alongside the black vinyl release, so both are pressed from the same master.
Parlophone will issue the 50th-anniversary versions of Aladdin Sane on April 14, 2023.
