Russian Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ryabkov confirmed on Saturday that the United States has been warned that the Russian Army will consider any convoy transporting weapons to Ukrainian troops a “legitimate target”.
“We have warned them that their operation to supply weapons to Ukraine is not only a dangerous decision but a move that turns the corresponding convoys into legitimate targets,” Ryabkov said.
In this regard, the deputy prime minister recalled the consequences that may arise in the context of the “thoughtless transfer” to Kyiv of types of weapons such as portable anti-aircraft missile systems and anti-tank missile systems.
In line with similar statements by Russian officials, Ryabkov has insisted that the United States is really “the source of maximum tension” on the international stage and specifically in this conflict “beyond material terms, just by supporting the criminal regime in Kyiv”- This was made known in an interview on Channel 1 of Russian television collected by the TASS agency.
Moreover, Ryabkov has come to unlink the sanctions that currently weigh on Russia for invading Ukraine with the incursion itself, considering that it was something that the United States had been planning for a long time, whatever the reason.
“We were preparing for this situation that we are witnessing now. And it is something independent of this operation that we are developing. Even if the situation in Donetsk and Luhansk,” Ryabkov said of the self-proclaimed breakaway Ukrainian republics close to Russia, one of the catalysts for the invasion, “would have normalized, Washington and its henchmen would have found any other reason to apply these sanctions.”
