According to Region Dalarna, Region Värmland contacted Dalarna this year to review the possibilities of letting Tvätten Fredriksberg in Ludvika municipality also handle Värmland’s laundry. An investigation of the laundry operations was then made. After the investigation is completed, the regions now agree to proceed with the process.
“We can see that continued cooperation can save millions. Now we are moving forward to build a robust laundry for two regions, says Ulf Berg (M),” chairman of the regional board.
This can lead to about 25 new jobs
The investigation has seen benefits such as more resources for the improvement and quality work, such as the introduction of chip marking that leads to more automation and increased traceability, but also some challenges that need to be solved. Challenges include an adaptation of the production facility, supply of skills and storage opportunities.
“It is positive that we get a collaboration with Region Värmland within the laundry business. Frederiksberg is often in a bad position for investments, but in a merger between Dalarna and Värmland, the location could not be better. This will lead to about 25 new jobs, says Christer Carlsson (M),” chairman of the service committee in the Dalarna region.
Tvätten Fredriksberg currently has a total of 35 employees.
