Web Weaver, Marvel Comics‘ first out and proud homosexual Spider-Man made his debut during Sexual Diversity Month. He will make his first appearance in Edge of the Spider-Verse #5 later this year.

Through his Twitter account, scriptwriter Steve Foxe, who is a member of the LGBT community and was responsible for the new version of Spider-Man, revealed the first glimpse at the character.

It’s a surprise, but I had a hand in co-creating Web Weaver, who will make his first appearance in EDGE OF THE SPIDER-VERSE #5 in September of this year.

Designed by the one and only Kris Anka, with a cover by Josemaria Casanovas, the identity of our inside artist will be made public very soon!

I owe a tremendous amount of gratitude to Kaeden McGahey, Lindsey Cohick, and Nick Lowe for having introduced me to the spider family.

I can’t wait for people to meet Web-Weaver for the first time, and I hope that she won’t be the last person to do so,” she remarked on the social network belonging to the birdie.

It is important to note that this particular incarnation of Spider-Man will not be the Peter Parker from the canonical timeline, and he will only appear in a single issue.

What do you think?
