Apparently, the volcanic character of Homelander in The Boys also has the actor who plays him, Antony Starr. The New Zealander is detained in Spain for assaulting a Venezuelan in a bar.

The 46-year-old actor, while intoxicated, punched him twice in the jaw and broke a glass in the face of Bathuel (his surname was not revealed), a 21-year-old cook, in a place in Castaños, Alicante.

Starr is in town shooting a movie (as yet untitled) directed by Guy Ritchie, and starring Jake Gyllenhaal. Also starring in the thriller are Alexander Ludwig, Jason Wong, Emily Beecham and Bobby Schofield.

The New Zealander spent the night in the dungeons of the Alicante Provincial Police Station.

This is how the events occurred where Homelander was involved

Information, a portal from Alicante, spoke with the Venezuelan, who has lived in the province for four years. According to Bathuel, he did not know that Starr was an actor, and when told at the police station he thought it was a joke.

Bathuel arrived at the pub with a friend, and was chatting with the waitresses, when next door “a man who was falling, he was so drunk”, kept “bothering and pushing because he was staggering”.

The Venezuelan told a companion of Starr to calm him down, because “he was very drunk”, so the actor began to rebuke him and push him. When Bathuel responded, Starr punched him and hit him in the left eyebrow with the glass.

Both left the bar and continued the fight until the local police arrived. Starr told the Venezuelan: “You don’t know who you’ve messed with, you don’t know who I am and what you’ve done. You’ve made the mistake of your life and I’m going to find you. I want to kill you”.

Antony Starr’s evolution in acting

Antony Starr was born in Wellington, New Zealand, on October 25, 1975. He has won several acting awards in his country, starting his career in series such as Xena, Warrior Princess, Rush and Banshee.

He was also in movies like Terror Peak, Without a Paddie and Spies and Lies.

However, he became a cult object when he starred as Homelander in The Boys, an Amazon Prime Video series. He is a macabre superhero who leads The Seven, a kind of Justice League or Avengers who, under the guise of vigilantes, commit the most heinous crimes.

The third season of The Boys is expected this year. The first two consisted of 16 episodes, with the presence of Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Erin Moriarty and Laz Alonso, among others.

For his participation as Homelander, he has won the Critics’ Choice Super Awards for Best Villain in a Series and Best Actor in a Superhero Series.
