Review

When it comes to casting, Anubhav Sinha has nailed down the casting, location, dialogues, and seriousness of the struggle of the actors from the North East with the right nuances, but she fails to weave them together into a story that will keep you hooked.

The first half is a bit long

In the first half of the film, some path is being made which does not reach any destination. The film seems a bit stretchy in the first half. Meaning the main issue was less focused on it.

Patriotism has been shown in many and it is good that it does not take the form of linguism which is quite common in Hindi films. The way Anubhav has shown the racial abuse and discrimination faced by the people of the North East daily is amazing.

Good subject

Also, you can’t ignore that this is one of those commercial movies which has tried to focus on the worrying situation of the North East which many people talk about but no one deep. Doesn’t show the courage to go there. The Movie is an important story in today’s time. The movie should have been a little more focused on just the screenplay. There was a slight lack here.

Performances

Ayushmann Khurrana played his character well. Where there should be a soft nature, he did it and where he had to play the role of a tough cop, he also did it brilliantly. Andrea Cevichusa has made her Bollywood debut in this film and she has acted well according to the first film. The rest of the supporting star cast Manoj Pahwa and JD has also done a good job. His character is also important like the main character.

Direction

Anubhav Sinha has done the best direction as always. How he shows a different and important subject sensitively, only he can do that.

Anek might be a good film, but it is would be not possible for Anek to get everyone interested in something like this.

What do you think?
