In just a few days, the Marvel Cinematic Universe ( MCU) will have a new movie in theaters. This is Thor: Love and thunder, which was directed by Taika Waititi, the person in charge of Thor: Ragnarok, and which has the return of Natalie Portman to the cast, in the skin of Mighty Thor. As is known, it will partly adapt the story in which Jane Foster is diagnosed with cancer and will have Gorr the butcher as the main villain.
Last Friday, Disney hosted a press conference with the entire main cast, Waititi, and Marvel president Kevin Feige. The spoiler was present at the virtual event where those involved spoke about the filming of the film and the future of the saga that was born in 2008 with Iron Man. The first question of the conference was addressed to Chris Hemsworth and had to do with his similarities with the character he plays.
In his question, the host pointed out to Hemsworth that together with Thor they practically grew up together and then asked him “what qualities of Thor” he felt most identified with. The actor noted that the arrival of Taika Waititi had enhanced this, saying:
“He brought the immature, young, adolescent quality that I represent. And now Thor does it too like he didn’t in the original movies, which is exciting and new and fresh,” he said. On the other hand, he stressed that this is what the film was always about, occupying space “in the same way that a boy would and enjoying being amazed and fascinated by everything. ” He also noted that he liked not having to get so caught up in the “serious” aspects of making a movie and that on a personal level he believes that movies like Thor: Love and Thunder “have to be fun” and that’s what they did. “That’s what I identify with, that’s what Taika insisted on and it’s been fun,” he concluded.
Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, as played by the actor
Immediately after asking him about the qualities of Thor with which he felt identified, the host asked Chris Hemsworth why the version of all that was seen of the god of thunder in the MCU was the one that identified him the most, and then highlighted that In his opinion, it was the “party Thor ” that we saw in “What if…?”. Laughing, the actor noted, “Yeah, sure. You should have seen us a few hours ago”, alluding to the party for the event world premiere of the film.
