Elizabeth Olsen: The evolution of Wanda to the Scarlet Witch in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has already been released in theaters , the new Marvel Studios movie that opens the doors to alternative realities with Doctor Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch ).

About WandaVision, Elizabeth Olsen believes that it represents Wanda’s journey to a stage where, for the first time, she takes her life into her own hands. She “is making decisions for herself, without anyone making them on her behalf, and she recognizes that she has a lot to process. She has a sense of responsibility for what she has done to that city and to those people. But she, too, is experiencing that great loss of the afterlife that she had created for herself that can now exist in the Multiverse,” she commented.

As the actress points out, WandaVision allowed her to delve into the character, bringing with her six years of experience. “This series created an opportunity to expand on what makes Wanda Wanda. She is a person of deep feelings, but in this series, she tries to relegate that part of herself. So it was a journey that allows Wanda to break through the sitcom facade and accept herself as the woman that she is and the life that she has led,” Olsen recounted

Spanning nine episodes, the series follows newly married couple Wanda and Vision settled in suburban Westview, where they must keep their powers hidden from the prying eyes and nagging questions of new friends and neighbors. Little by little, the peaceful reality of superheroes hints that not everything is as it seems, unleashing a series of events that set the stage for much of what is seen in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

In the new Marvel Studios movie, Doctor Strange turns to Wanda for information about the Multiverse to protect America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez), a teenager with the unique ability to open doors from one multiverse to another.

Having sworn an oath to guard the barriers between universes, America’s care now falls to him, and what follows is a wild and mind-bending adventure that sends Doctor Strange and his allies on a perilous journey to alternate universes in the Multiverse. where he meets other versions of his friends, his enemies and even himself, as well as an enemy with powers never seen before.

For Olsen, reprising the character of Wanda Maximoff , aka Scarlet Witch , was an incredible opportunity. “I think the reason why I really liked Wanda from the beginning is that she is very clear about her beliefs. She doesn’t line up with the others, and that’s fine. She will come to her own understanding of things and when she makes a mistake she admits it,” she commented.

The 33-year-old actress confessed that experiencing the transition from her character in the series to the new film was very revealing: “This is a story about how we find happiness. It’s a classic story about people who choose a different paths. We go back to this idea that I think we romanticize a lot. What would my life be like if I turned left instead of right? It’s about reflecting on what we’ve done to get us to where we are.”
