Stephen Curry led the charge for the Golden State Warriors on Friday as they won the crucial Game 4 of the final series against the Boston Celtics 107-97.
Curry added to his “MVP” bid by amassing 43 points, including seven field goals from downtown, to bring the Warriors level with the Celtics to two wins all.
His production of 43 points is the second-most of his career in an NBA Finals series.
“That guy has heart, it’s unbelievable,” said his teammate, another half of the Splash Brothers, Klay Thompson. We sometimes take for granted everything he does, how he carries us on his back. We need to do more to help him on Monday. »
Golden State’s star sniper was notably supported by Andrew Wiggins, author of a performance of 17 points and 16 rebounds.
Steve Kerr’s men have now won at least one road game in 27 consecutive playoffs.
Curry quickly followed up with a long two-point shot, after playing with speed and agility to get past center, Robert Williams.
Curry tightened the noose with a three-pointer with 1:42 to go, for the score at 100-94.
“We finally figured out in the fourth quarter that we can shoot well and execute our game well. It’s crazy because I still think we can play a little bit better. But getting an away win and recovering the home advantage is huge, huge for this group,” commented the hero of the evening.
Al Horford gave the crowd some hope with a three-point shot, but Looney added a basket and Brown committed a turnover.
The series now moves to California, where Game 5 will be played at the Oracle on Monday at 9 p.m.
