While browsing Google Chrome, we can come across pop-up windows with promotions or other types of content that, in many cases, can become a bit annoying.
To be a little more clear, when we talk about pop-up windows in a browser, we are referring to those that are displayed automatically when entering a website.
These are generally used to display advertisements in an intrusive way, that is, without the user’s authorization.
This is a technique that is related to pop-under, an advertising format that describes multiple display ads that open under an active window for a desktop or mobile user.
The so-called pop-unders are less annoying to the user, but they are not shown until the user closes the window they are using.
How to disable popups
Currently, browsers include a system that helps prevent the appearance of unwanted pop-up windows. In that case, we want to show you the steps you must follow to apply it in Google Chrome.
The steps you must follow are the following:
- Access Chrome from PC and tap on the three dots menu and go to Settings. After this, you will follow this path: Privacy and security> Site settings.
- A website settings menu will be displayed, you will navigate to Permissions > Pop-ups and redirects. Lastly, disable pop-ups and redirects.
And this way you will have cleaner navigation in Google Chrome.
