Google has earned this place as a benchmark for the smartphone industry with its family of Pixel phones.

The devices since their birth have been characterized by being relatively expensive and difficult to obtain in much of the world, including Latin America.

But the maximum use of its components and its absolute integration with the lightest, most complete and balanced version of Android makes it an obligatory point of reference.

That is why its Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro drew so much attention, demonstrating the full potential of this new era for Google’s operating system.

And now we know a few details about the successors of both models thanks to Android 13.

From 9to5Google comes the revelation that Google leaked both devices in the code of Android 13, whose developer preview was released this week.

The product of a brief research work carried out by that site in conjunction with the developer cstark27, the designated development code names for each phone was found.

In the code of this preview version of Android 13, it was discovered that the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro are being developed internally at Google with the code names of ‘Cheetah’ and ‘Panther’ respectively.

This move is interesting, as with previous models their code names were ‘Oriole’ and ‘Raven’, whereas before all previous Pixels had a name related to marine life.

But beyond the categories of animals chosen, the nomenclature of these code names helped determine then that these models would be powered by a processor designated under the identifier of ‘GS201’.

If the codename sounds familiar to you, it’s because the Pixel 6 runs on a Tensor GS101 chipset. So this designation makes us think that a new generation processor would be used and perhaps that would be its final name.

The scanned code itself also reveals that the GS201 would use a hypothetical Samsung ‘g5300b modem. It does not yet exist officially, but its model number is consistent with the nomenclature of the most recent official models.

The information obtained is little, but at least now we know that the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro are already on the way.
