Vivo is clear that the most important section of a smartphone is the camera, and it wants to demonstrate it with the Vivo X80 Pro, the new flagship announced a few months ago in China and that now arrives in Europe to battle face to face with terminals like the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra or the iPhone 13 Pro. It does so, in this case, associating with Zeiss to improve the experience when taking pictures. Also, betting on the latest from Qualcomm, a wireless charge of up to 50W and an on-screen fingerprint reader that is much more advanced compared to other Android phones.
One of the most striking aspects of the Vivo X80 Pro – in addition to its camera – is its design. The manufacturer wanted to give prominence to the photographic section with a huge module that occupies great art in the rear area. Without forgetting, yes, the resistance; includes IP68 certification, and the “all-screen” experience, since the terminal has a panel with hardly any frames. This screen, which comes with AMOLED technology, is 6.78 inches and includes a QHD+ resolution of 440 x 3200 pixels, as well as a 120 Hz refresh rate. It is powered by a 4,700 mAh battery, which includes a fast charge of up to 80W, and a wireless charge of up to 50W baptized as FlashCharge.
Regarding performance, the Vivo X80 Pro has a Snapdragon 8 gen 1 processor, one of the most powerful SoCs today and that we also see in terminals such as the Xiaomi 12 Pro or the Realme GT 2 Pro. In this case, the chip Qualcomm is accompanied by a RAM of up to 12 GB and internal storage of up to 512 GB. Vivo, on the other hand, has added an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor capable of unlocking the terminal in just 0.2 seconds, according to company data. This scanner also has a detection area 11.1 times larger than other models.
The camera of the Vivo X80 Pro is, without a doubt, its most remarkable feature. At a technical level, the terminal, in particular, has a 50-megapixel main sensor with an f/1.6 aperture. It is accompanied by a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, capable of taking pictures at up to 114º. It also includes two telephoto sensors. The first, 12 megapixels, allows you to take pictures with a 2x optical zoom. The second, which lowers its resolution to 8 megapixels, is capable of capturing images at up to 5x.
The difference between this smartphone compared to the rest of its competition, are the modes and functions that Vivo has included thanks to its association with Zeiss, the German manufacturer of lenses and optics. One of these options is the so-called Cinematic Video Bokeh, which allows you to capture shots with the background out of focus in an aspect ratio of 2.39:1. The manufacturer has also included a night mode baptized as Pure Night Vision and an intelligent portrait mode called Camera Panning, which is capable of reducing the blur caused by subject movements.
The collaboration with Zeiss also brings significant improvements to the photos taken with the Vivo X80 Pro’s four lenses. According to the manufacturer, a technology called ZEISS Natural Color has been included. Powered by AI, it enables more natural colors and more accurate exposure for more life-like results.
The Vivo X80 Pro also has its imaging chip: the Vivo V1+. This, also powered by artificial intelligence, is capable of automatically changing the video mode depending on the ambient lighting.
The Vivo X80 Pro will be available in Spain for 1,199 euros. It can be purchased next July 1 in the manufacturer’s online store, as well as in the main online stores.
