Smartphones are part of the routine of many users today due to the multiple functions they perform. A study by the German Office for Radiation Protection revealed that five cell phone models emit radiation when receiving and making calls.
According to this study, the reference of the analysis is the SAR value point (specific absorption rate) where the average of 0.25 is considered ideal for the cell phone to be “non-toxic”.
After analyzing all the available models from the extensive list of names, there are some that exceeded the estimated value, which is classified as the most “toxic” in radiation emitted in the ear.
- Motorola Edge 1.79
- Sony Xperia XA2 Plus 1.41
- Pixel 3XL/3a XL 1.39
- Pixel 4a 1.37
- Oppo Reno 5G 1.36
It should be clarified that the figure is not something that users should be alarmed about, since all cell phones emit non-ionizing radiofrequency through the antennas.
“Humanity lives surrounded by radiation. Simply using a microwave, the WiFi that is always ‘on’ in homes and the smartphone will not cause you to grow a third eye,” declared the German Office for Radiation Protection.
On the other hand, the smartphones that emit less radiation are the iPhone 13 and the Xiaomi Mi 11.
