Google Docs is that effort by Google to try to replace the absolute dominance of Microsoft with its office package where Word stands out. After so many years where new functions were added, it can finally be said that this leadership is strongly battling.
However, that does not mean that Google Docs stops updating, on the contrary, the tool seeks to make day-to-day life even easier for users.
As part of these updates, the platform announced a new tool that makes it possible to perform automatic summaries of any text with the help of artificial intelligence (AI).
What is the new function?
It is a function that allows users to summarize information more quickly and easily, without having to do it manually.
Google’s tool delivers a compressed version of a text with the most relevant points of information, with the aim of providing greater efficiency to students or professionals when studying for a test or presenting a report.
“Summaries in Documents provide a brief overview of the main points of a document, so you can quickly analyze the information that matters and prioritize where to focus. You can also edit the summaries or create your own.”, they indicate in their blog.
Users will now be able to save time and work when making a summary, but for now, it’s time to wait a little longer since the function is not yet available in Spanish, but it probably will be in the coming days.
In addition to automatic summaries, Google Docs also brought other features such as borderless formatting to maximize collaboration between users.
The pageless format in Docs gives teams more room to collaborate, helping create a seamless flow of information for writers and viewers alike, as well as adding more horizontal space for content like tables and images.
