Ms. Marvel: Where the Disney+ Series Fits Into the MCU Timeline

Starring Iman Vellani, the series arrives on Disney+ on June 8

The wait was long, but  Ms. Marvel is finally coming to the Disney+ catalog. The first Muslim superheroine of Casa das Ideias will debut next Wednesday (8) with the screening of the first episode of the series.

As usual, even before a new attraction enters the tangle that forms the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a big question arises in the minds of fans: when does this story happen?

The question is pertinent, as the web of narratives becomes ever larger and events in a movie or series can always influence the fate of other characters, as well as that of Earth itself.

Ms. Marvel: Protagonist of the series is already confirmed in another film

MS. MARVEL TAKES PLACE AT WHAT POINT IN THE MCU?

It is known, initially, that all of Marvel’s Phase 4 projects take place after Avengers: Endgame. The only movie that sounds like an outsider on this list is Black Widow, which was originally supposed to have been released after Captain America: Civil War.

In an interview with The Direct, Marvel Editor-in-Chief  Bisha K. Ali revealed when the children’s series starring  Iman Vellani fits into the MCU.

“So I think right now, we don’t put an official number on how many years have passed since Endgame,” Ali said. “I can’t tell you off the top of my head. I feel like [the series takes place] a year or two [after Avengers: Endgame], something like that, but I don’t remember [specifically]. time.”

In this way, Ms. Marvel should take place before  Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and next to WandaVision,  Shang-Chi, and The Legend of the Ten Rings and Eternals.

WHAT IS THE STORY OF MS. MARVEL?

In Ms. Marvel, we meet Kamala Khan (Vellani), a 16-year-old who grew up in Jersey City. Of Pakistani origin, the teenager is an exemplary student and player. In her spare time, Kamala enjoys writing fanfics and has a special fascination with superheroes, particularly the Avengers and Captain Marvel. However, the young geek has been having trouble fitting in at home and making friends at school, a few of the teenagers there have the same interests as her. However, Kamala’s life changes drastically when she acquires superpowers.

Now, with her new and mysterious abilities, the young woman must face the same reality as those superheroes she admires so much. Most of all, Kamala realizes that being superpowered is a big responsibility. Kamala will have to balance being a superhero with her school life, as she experiences being from a Muslim family living in the United States.

The first season of the series premieres on June 8, 2022, exclusively on Disney+.
