JLo speaks for the first time about how her divorce from Marc Anthony affected her

The actress and singer addressed the issue of her divorce from the father of her twins, Emme and Maximilian, during the documentary ‘Halftime’.

Jennifer López and Marc Anthony formed one of the strongest families in the middle of the show, along with their children Emme and Max, that’s why they caused a great impact when they announced their separation, on July 16, 2011, through a joint statement to ABC News.

But more than a decade later, the interpreter of “If you had my love” revealed how her divorce from the singer affected her. In her new documentary About her ‘Halftime’, available on Netflix, JLo reveals that her separation from Marc left her feeling insecure.

“As an artist, I lost a little bit of who I was trying to build a perfect life, a family life. When my children turned 3 years old, I got divorced, I was a single mother with two small children, “explained the singer.

“At 42, movie roles weren’t knocking on my door and when I went back to work, I felt like I no longer knew what my worth was,” Jennifer said of her post-breakup situation.

Being a judge on the 10th season of the talent show American Idol was essential for the protagonist of Hustlers to be able to rediscover herself as an artist and show the world the woman she was.

“I was doing ‘American Idol,’ that was my first big job after having babies and it was good for me at the time. People could see me for who I was, and that changed everything, ”she sentenced.

“I learned a lot about myself. I had a purpose and I felt like I had to work more on my acting, my singing, my dancing, everything. I need to be better in every way.”

In her book ‘True Love’, Jennifer Lopez recounted the moment she knew her marriage to the Live My Life interpreter had to end. “In a fit of fear and panic, I looked at (my agent Benny Medina) and my mother, and blurted out the words, ‘I don’t think I can go on with Marc.’ Then I burst into tears,” the actress wrote.

In an interview with W Magazine, the star revealed that it wasn’t easy for her to “find forgiveness” when her marriage to Anthony ended. “It was not the dream she expected and it would have been easier to fan the flames of resentment, disappointment, and anger. But Marc is the father of my children and that will never go away. So, I have to work to get things right and that is by far the hardest work I do,” she said.

A year later, during her appearance on Live with Kelly on March 20, the interpreter of ‘The Ring’ claimed that she had managed to become very close to Marc Anthony: “We are like best friends.”

Currently, Jennifer is one of the most successful singers, businesswomen, and actresses in the world, and, as she has said, she is “in the best moment of her life” now that she is back with Ben Affleck.
