Cerseis and Tyrions around the world rejoice: Vintage Wine Estates is expanding its wines with Game of Thrones, adding a pinot noir to the collection that began last year.
Available this month, pinot joins the chardonnay, red blend and cabernet sauvignon that began offering Vintage Wine Estates, based in Oregon, in 2017. These bottles have, respectively, the seals of Lannister, Targaryen and Stark in the artwork of the label; the newest offer will feature a signature imprint of Casa Martell or Casa Tyrell printed on the cork.

Pinot is “elegant and full of complex aromas and flavors,” as described by Bob Cabral, winemaker at Vintage Wine Estates, who was named Wine Enthusiast winemaker of the year and is a “great” fan of Game of Thrones.
“The new pinot noir is a valuable addition to the Game of Thrones wine line, as it was inspired by the complexity and nuances of this fascinating drama … Oregon is famous for its fine pinot noir, and this wine captures the essence of the variety and the exceptional vineyards of which it is made. ”

The pinot noir of Game of Thrones was presented at the Aspen Food & Wine Classic this past weekend and will be available online at Game of Thrones Wines and at stores across the country later this summer. It is not Imp’s Delight, but it will serve us well while we wait for the last season (and help us drown our sorrows when the series ends).
So, we have more and more reasons to serve us a good drink of wine or whiskey, then remember that just a while ago Johnnie Walker said he will launch a special edition for the HBO series.
