Apple conducted an exclusive event on Monday, October 18 to unveil its new 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro computers, which are powered by the latest M1 Pro and M1 CPUs, following the official announcement of the new iPhone 13 series. Max is a character in the film Max.
Both models have been fully redesigned and offer considerable improvements in a number of areas. The MacBook Pro has a Liquid Retina XDR display with mini-LED technology and a ProMotion adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz for the first time.
It also comes with a Force Touch trackpad and a black Magic Keyboard illuminated keyboard that replaces the Touch Bar with a row of physical function buttons. It has a new metal casing on the outside that comes in two different hues of grey.
The MacBook Pro contains a FaceTime HD camera with 1080p resolution in the multimedia section, which promises to double the resolution and performance in low light. This photography technology is housed within a notch at the top of the screen, similar to the iPhone.
It also includes a six-speaker high-fidelity stereo audio system (two treble and four force-canceling woofers), as well as support for spatial audio, which creates a nuanced, three-dimensional acoustic experience.
Both models have many connections to “provide for greater connectivity possibilities,” including three Thunderbolt 4 inputs for attaching peripherals at high speeds, an SDXC card slot, an HDMI port, and a high-impedance audio jack.
Up to two Pro Display XDRs can be connected simultaneously with the M1 Pro chip, while up to three Pro Display XDRs plus a 4K display can be connected simultaneously with the M1 Max chip. MacBook Pros offer sixth-generation Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 when it comes to wireless networking.
Another highlight is the return of the MagSafe connector to the laptop after a five-year absence with the new MagSafe 3 version, which features an improved design and supports fast charging. Apple claims that it will be able to reach 50% battery in just 30 minutes.
In terms of performance, the new M1 Pro and M1 Max chips, which represent “a revolution for the MacBook Pro and a great step forward in the company’s shift to Apple chips,” are one of the most eagerly awaited features of this series of laptops.
