Google has identified a bug in WiFi connectivity on the Pixel 6 series after the implementation of the latest Android update, which took place in the first days of February, and has indicated that it will be fixed with an update scheduled for March.
As reported by a user of a Pixel 6 through Reddit, with the latest operating system update on this phone, the WiFi connection is automatically turned off when the user locks the device. In addition, once it has been unlocked, it is necessary to activate the WiFi manually and choose one of the available networks to use the Internet again, since it does not automatically connect to a previously chosen one.
Google has responded to this user on this website, and on its own forum, and has indicated that it has identified the root cause of the issue and that it affects “a very small number of devices.”
It has also admitted that it has developed a ‘software’ solution to end this system failure and that it will be available in the next Google Pixel update, which will be released in March.
However, those users who have not wanted to wait until then have opted for an alternative option that this same user warned on Reddit and that consists of installing the version of the Android 12L Beta 3 operating system.
