Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that 137 civilians and soldiers have been killed so far in the Russian invasion of his country.

He referred to them as “heroes” during a video address broadcast early Friday, in which he also noted that there are hundreds of wounded.

Zelenskyy said that despite Russia’s claims that its attacks are only against military targets, there have also been attacks in civilian areas. In his words: “They are killing people and turning peaceful cities into military targets. It is not right and they will never be forgiven.”

The president assures that all the border guards on the Snake Island, in the Odessa region, died on Thursday. The Ukrainian border guard service had reported hours earlier that the island had fallen under Russian control.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has ordered a full military mobilization to confront the Russian invasion.

In a decree issued on Thursday, the president indicated that the mobilization would last 90 days.

It charged the Army General Staff with determining the number of persons fit for service and the number of reservists, as well as the order of convocation. The president’s cabinet has been charged with allocating the money for the mobilization.
