It, the film adaptation of Stephen King’s famous novel, hits theaters this Friday, September 8. He directs Andrés Muschietti and the film has surrounded many young talents to recreate The Losers Club, the group of children facing the terrible Pennywise (Bill Skarsgård).
“I think people enjoy horror movies because they make tangible fears, like anxiety or depression,” replies Jacobs, who gives life to Mike Hanlon in the film adding that, perhaps, they can help you overcome your fears. His casting partner Wolfhard, who plays Richie Tozier, believes that what people find pleasing about the horror genre is “the adrenaline they trigger.”
It is not easy to bring to the big screen one of the literary works of the king of terror. Therefore, when the lead cast knew that the criticism was positive, they were quite relieved. “I was very nervous trying to bring something to the screen of a legendary writer, it’s something that makes you nervous because you do not want to do it wrong, so yes, it definitely was liberating,” Taylor admits, an actor who gets into the skin scored by Ben Hanscom.
THE FEARS THAT PENNYWISE WOULD USE AGAINST THEM

If you are familiar with the world of It, you will know that the monster that terrifies the protagonists uses their biggest fears against them to confront them. The film delves into this topic, but what are the terrors of the actors?
Oleff, actor who plays the character of Stanley Uris says that his biggest fear are the closed spaces and the loud noises. “I would not know where to look and it’s scary.” Wolfhard, meanwhile, favors “a herd of coyotes” and Jacobs believes that Pennywise could use many things against him, because he is afraid of “monsters, demons and darkness.”
And what about the clowns now that they have faced one of them? Lillis, the only girl in the group and actress who beats Beverly Marsh, says her perspective on them has changed.
“It’s interesting how the first perspective I had on the clowns has now completely changed. I had not thought much about clowns until after It,” he explains.
