For the upcoming assembly elections in five states, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has prepared a new campaign strategy keeping in mind the guidelines related to Kovid-19 Under this, the party will hold small direct rallies and they will be broadcast live on various social media platforms. BJP sources told news agency PTI on Tuesday that BJP President JP Nadda discussed the campaign strategy with several office bearers and leaders of the party and it was decided that all the rallies would be digital, in which the party’s top brass The officials will directly address small public meetings and these will be broadcast through social media.

According to sources, top leaders including Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will go into the campaign after January 22. The party has sufficient resources to ensure access to maximum number of people using technology, he added. In view of the increasing cases of infection with the corona virus and its new variant Omicron, the Election Commission has imposed many other restrictions including direct rally, public meeting, road show.

Elections will be held in seven phases in Uttar Pradesh and it will begin on February 10 with voting in 58 seats in 11 districts of the western part of the state. In the second phase, on February 14, voting will be held in 55 seats of the state. Along with Uttar Pradesh, the Election Commission has announced the dates of elections in Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa and Manipur. Polling will be held in Uttarakhand and Goa on February 14, while in Punjab it will be held on February 20. Manipur will go to polls in two phases on February 27 and March 3.

 

In Uttar Pradesh, 59 seats in the third phase on February 20, 60 seats in the fourth phase on February 23, 60 seats in the fifth phase on February 27, 57 seats in the sixth phase on March 3 and 54 in the seventh phase on March 7. Voting will take place on the seats.

Earlier on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called upon the BJP workers of Varanasi for the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections to explain to the people the power of their one vote. At the same time, he said that he and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath are able to do something because people have voted for him. Modi interacted with booth level workers of his parliamentary constituency here through the NaMo app. During this, 10,000 workers of the district and metropolis were involved in discussions with him and he spoke to eight booth presidents of 8 assembly constituencies.
