Doctor Strange 2 or Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness became the highest-grossing film of the year during its opening weekend and the second in times of pandemic , according to analysts from Exhibitor Relations, with an estimated gross of $185 million dollars .
Although six years have passed since the premiere of the first part, the main character had several important appearances in other films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so he was not inactive and arrived just in time to turn around the new stage of superheroes.
Benedict Cumberbatch reprised his starring role as Stephen Strange, a character who has had remarkable development since the beginning, when he used to be an arrogant neurosurgeon and turned into a superhero.
According to estimates by The Richest , in 2019 Cumberbatch doubled the earnings he made in 2015, valued at $5 million, when it was reported that reprising his role as Doctor Stephen Strange would earn him up to $8 million.
Box office bonuses would be added to this last figure, the values of these have not been revealed, according to Just Jared.
In 2018, he received a combined salary of $5,440,000 for appearances in Thor: Ragnarok , Avengers: Infinity War , Avengers: Endgame , and for his starring role in Doctor Strange.
For his recent appearance in Spiderman: No Way Home he received a starting payment of $1 million dollars.

Throughout his career in Hollywood productions, he has participated in several that were nominated for the Academy such as 12 Years as a Slave, Star Trek: Into Darkness, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug and The Imitation Game.
