Armpit Liposuction is a surgical technique that suppresses localized fat clusters. These clusters of localized fat do not disappear either with diet or with physical exercise.
Liposuction can be performed in many areas of the body: the flanks, the hips, the abdomen, the thighs, the knees, the calves, the ankles, the arms and the back. The technical advances now also allow the intervention to be performed at the facial and neck level.
The liposuction technique is not a method of thinning, its objective is to eliminate fat to restore beauty and harmony to the figure of the patient and not control their weight. In this way a correctly performed liposuction does not exclude correct eating habits.
The cosmetic surgery liposuction underarm is relatively simple, and stubborn adipose tissue is removed.
Causes and treatment
Liposuction: it is a surgical procedure by which fat deposits are aspirated in certain areas of the body by introducing a cannula that is connected to a vacuum machine. The plastic surgeon inserts a cannula under the skin and aspirates the small pocket of fat that forms there.
Generally armpit fat does not necessarily correspond to excess weight, and may be present in thin people, also in people who have experienced a sharp decrease in weight, both in men and women. Sometimes the excess tissue is not only fat, but additional breast tissue, in this case other surgical techniques are used, since the tissue is more fibrous. In the case of a mammoplasty, and liposuction is necessary in the same act, but already under general anesthesia.

Frequently asked questions of armpit liposuction
Can liposuction be done with local anesthesia?
It depends on the amount to be extracted. The maximum dose of local anesthetic should not be exceeded even if they have a large safety margin. So in large procedures the dose must be very diluted, being necessary the collaboration of an anesthetist to disconnect the patient and administer sedation and analgesia. Sometimes it is advisable to use general or epidural anesthesia.
Is the intervention painful?
The intervention is always carried out in a hospital environment with all the resources so that the patients suffer the minimum in this type of procedures. Patients describe the discomfort as strong stiffness in the treated area.
How is the postoperative?
We recommend 48 hours of partial rest, since it is in this period that the patient is more sore. In any case, the administration of analgesics causes the discomfort to diminish greatly. Also during these hours it is common to spot the band because the local anesthesia that infiltrated during the intervention is removed by the incisions. This should not alarm and is even beneficial. After the first two days, the patient showers and begins to live a normal life by wearing a compression garment (girdle) for a month.
When do you see the result?
Between the third and sixth week, depending on the area treated. So in the waist it will be seen in three weeks and in the abdomen in a month and a half. The result appears gradually. And we will have to wait another month and a half for the skin to acquire its appearance and final touch.
What complications can this procedure present?
As a general rule, people who undergo this type of surgical intervention are healthy patients, and since vital organs are not reached, the risks are minimal. It is noteworthy that whenever there is a wound there is a possibility that it will become infected. Therefore, all measures are taken to prevent contamination of the incisions.
How long are the results?
After puberty, the number of adiposites does not increase, so when we extract fat to reshape an area, there is no possibility that the extracted adiposites will return to it. Thus, we will say that the results will be permanent, as long as the patient does not gain weight considerably.
