The differences between the first time Kate and Meghan alone with the Queen

Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, officially participated in her first solo event with the Queen. And despite the habit of accompanying the matriarch in public appearances to be part of the actual protocol, Meghan’s day comes less than a month after the link with Prince Harry.

For reference, Kate Middleton did not make her first official tour with the Queen until nearly a year after her wedding in 2011 with William. The tour only happened on March 8, 2012 as part of the Diamond Jubilee tour of Elizabeth II – a celebration for the 60-year reign.

The Duchess of Cambridge and the matriarch of the Royal Family attended a dance performance at De Montfort Square in Leicester, England. Then they followed a fashion show at the University of Montfort. The day ended with a visit to Leicester Cathedral, where they received flowers.

Meghan Markle opted for a Givenchy dress in off-white, covered by a short cape and marked at the waist by a belt. On her feet, it was black scarpins. She and the Queen opened the Mersey Gateway Bridge and Catalyst Science Discovery Center in Cheshire and then traveled to Chester, also in England, where they opened the Storyhouse Theater. The trip was all made by train.
