Presently, three collaborations have been revealed for Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2, including Resident Evil, Attack on Titan, and Star Wars. However, none are truly futuristic in the sense of being Japanese-influenced.
That said, other franchises would make wonderful contributions to the metaverse if incorporated in the following season. Although some might be more niche than others, they are quite prominent in pop culture and video games.
Back to the Future and four other futuristic collaborations suited for Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2
1) Back to the Future
With time-traveling and reality-hoping being the primary idea of the metaverse, a partnership with other timer travelers will bode well for Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2. Who better to welcome on board for a wild voyage than Marty McFly and Dr. Emmett Brown from Back to the Future?
It’s a match made in heaven, and the community eagerly anticipates this collaboration. Many concepts have also been made regarding the same. Suffice it to say, they look great, and everything about the premise of this partnership screams ‘hype.’
2) Cyberpunk 2077 and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners
With Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty DLC launching sometime this year and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners still going strong, teaming with Fortnite would make sense. Given the vast amount of people to chose from to make into an Outfit, Epic Games will have no trouble with choices.
Furthermore, with video games and anime showcasing their own set of characters, both anime and conventional Outfits can be added to the fold. A female and male version of ‘V’ might be introduced to the game alongside Jackie Welles (RIP) from the video game, while popular characters such as David Martinez, Lucy, Maine, Dorio, and Rebecca could be included from the anime.
Among all the franchises Epic Games can (and should) cooperate with in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2, this one stands tall among them. If not for the game, the anime is a picture-perfect representation of what fans may anticipate to see.
3) Blade Runner
Although Blade Runner’s popularity has lessened in recent years, back in the day, it was regarded a benchmark for future settings. Watching Harrison Ford take on the character of Rick Deckard was simply awe-inspiring.
If Epic Games ever wishes to cooperate with this series, Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 is the greatest moment to do it. Although a game based on Blade Runner is in production, that won’t see the light of day till 2025. That said, a cooperation in the metaverse is the best approach to go.
4) Deus Ex
When it comes to video games that ooze futuristic vibes, Deus Ex sets the bar in many ways. Although the franchise’s latest game being released back in 2016, the impact that it had has not faded away.
Fans are nevertheless eager to step into the shoes of Adam Jensen and live out their dystopian aspirations. While there are a few interesting characters, Adam is definitely the one that will remain in focus. Perhaps allowing players to modify their appearance in-game would make the collaboration valuable.
5) Mirror’s Edge Catalyst
When it comes to parkour and fluid movement, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is the first game that comes to mind. While the environment may not be futuristic in the literal sense, a partnership would make sense, given the diverse types of movement mechanics coming to Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2.
Nothing would be more exciting and interesting than seeing Faith Connors wall-run to avoid taking damage from the incoming fire. While the breadth of this partnership would be small, it would make for a nice addition to the forthcoming season.
