Samantha Ruth Prabhu has issued a forceful statement in response to the rumours surrounding her split from Naga Chaitanya. Samantha Ruth Prabhu replied to rumours about “affairs,” family planning, and suspected abortions in a lengthy Instagram storey on Friday, dismissing them as “fake.” Samantha thanked her fans for their support after she and Naga Chaitanya announced their separation on Twitter, writing: “I’m humbled by your emotional investment in a personal situation. Thank you all for your great empathy, concern, and for standing up for me in the face of false rumours and stories. They accuse me of having affairs, never wanting children, being an opportunist, and now having abortions.”
The 34-year-old actress asked for some alone time “”Nothing will be able to shatter” her spirit, she says, adding, “A divorce is an extraordinarily traumatic process in and of itself.” Let alone giving me the opportunity to heal. This has been a never-ending assault on me. But I guarantee you, this, or whatever else they say, will never break me.”
Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya revealed their breakup last week with statements on their Instagram accounts. The actress issued the following statement: “Thank you to all of our well-wishers. Chay and I have decided to separate as husband and wife to pursue our individual paths after much study and thought. We were lucky to have a friendship that lasted over a decade and was at the heart of our relationship, and we feel it will always hold a special place in our hearts. We ask for support from our fans, well-wishers, and the media during this terrible time, as well as the privacy we require to go forward. Thank you so much for your help.” For several weeks prior to their announcement, the couple had been dogged by divorce rumours.
In a tweet, Naga Chaitanya’s father, south megastar Nagarjuna, expressed his displeasure with the separation announcement, writing: “Let me say this with a sorrowful heart: whatever transpired between Sam and Chay was really regrettable. The relationship between a wife and her husband is quite personal. Sam and Chay are two of my favourite people. My family will always remember the times we spent with Sam, and we will always hold her in high regard. May God give them both the strength they need.”
Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya announced their split two days before their fourth wedding anniversary, which was set for October 6.
