Salma Luévano Luna, a federal deputy for the National Regeneration Movement (Morena), announced through social networks that she officially filed a complaint against the legislator of the National Action Party ( PAN ), Gabriel Quadri de la Torre, before the National Institute Electoral (INE) for Political Violence against Women for Reasons of Gender.

The brunette made her complaint public through her Twitter account where she wrote: “Today I filed a complaint with @INEMexico for Political Violence against Women for Reasons of Gender, against @g_quadri because the transphobic speeches directed to me who hinder my legislative work and with them, those of our entire population”.

In addition to this, a few days ago, on February 23, Quadri de la Torre again generated controversy within the LGBT + community due to the acid comments against the also legislator of the icing party María Clemente García, whom, in a way contemptuously, she referred to her as “men from Morena, dressed as women, tall and corpulent.”

The PAN member’s acidic comments came after Clemente García confronted Teresa Castells, also a National Action legislator, who asked that they not touch her due to their difference in size and strength, so she slowly walks away in the opposite direction while the body security intervenes.

“Aggression of men from Morena (the Trans party) dressed as women against our fellow PAN Deputy Tere Castell. Unacceptable. We will go to file a complaint with the Legal Directorate of the Chamber of Deputies,” Quadri de la Torre wrote on social media.

It is worth mentioning that both Clemente García and Luévano Luna have been constantly attacked by Quadri de la Torre. It was at the beginning of the month when Salma characterized herself as a PAN member during a session in the Chamber of Deputies to request the removal of the Va por México flag bearer or due to the accusations that accuse him of promoting hate speech and transphobic comments on more than one occasion.

On that occasion, Luévano Luna indicated that the constant attacks of the former presidential candidate foster hatred towards sexual diversity, for which he stressed that as a popular representative he has had “no qualms or shame” in spreading messages of hate against the transgender population.

“He continues to issue ridiculous messages classifying us as a ‘transracist’ movement without realizing that it is he who personifies ultra-conservative fascism by disqualifying and minimizing a historically invisible sector of the population, such as us trans women and men,” said the deputy

He also stressed that the PAN member’s comments are already considered a crime typified as discrimination in several states of the country, which is why he urged all parliamentary groups, including National Action, to “not allow more members of this 65 Legislature are instigators of violence.

Another of the moments in which Quadri de la Torre was accused of generating hate speech against the trans community in Mexico was during a virtual forum of the program Talking about the people of the CNN television network, where the journalist Camilo Egaña asked that the transmission of the former presidential candidate be cut off because on that occasion he made fun of Luévano Luna after shaving his head “in protest and sisterhood for all those victims who have died for these crimes.”

After the intervention of the Moreno deputy, the PAN denied that he reproduced a hate speech and assured that the only thing he had said was that the trans ideology “dehumanize and objectify women.”
