WhatsApp has had a very particular year in 2021, the same one that began with controversy for the application and that later led to the release of new functions never seen before. Now, according to what has already been confirmed by the developers, the plan will remain the same for 2022 and some of the options that will arrive for iOS and Android in the coming months are already known.
2021 has been a busy year for WhatsApp. In the development of this, it began with a controversy that lasted for months and that even generated great prominence for some of its most direct competitors such as Telegram and Signal.
Starting in the middle of the year, the app started receiving features much more often than in recent years. Some of those that have already reached the official version after being in beta for months is the speed of the audios and the option to connect up to four devices simultaneously.
Now, the platform has more similar options prepared, focused on simplifying actions that we already commonly perform such as sending or receiving audios, reports, videos, and even emojis. Here is a review of five functions that are already confirmed:
1. Spam reports
In the future, WhatsApp will allow you to take additional action to just block an unwanted contact that sends us messages that we are not interested in. Soon, the application will add the possibility of reporting a chat for a more detailed report that analyzes the lack of terms and conditions.
2. Audio transcription
Many people communicate through WhatsApp audio, but not all prefer this method. Luckily, the application has an option ready to convert easily and quickly, automatically transcribing the content of voice messages into text. Something similar to YouTube’s auto-generated subtitles.
3. Emojis as reactions
As with Facebook and other applications such as Signal, WhatsApp will allow us to react to each individual message with an emoji of our choice. It is still unknown whether there will be an unlimited list or if only some specific emoticons can be placed.
4. Video without audio
For many people, opening a video can be a risky subject, since many of them contain a high level of audio. Now, WhatsApp will allow you to apply a silence setting to any clip that is sent through a chat.
5. Multi-device without depending on the cell phone
It is one of the most anticipated options, but it is still in the beta phase. Soon, WhatsApp will allow you to log in without depending on the main device (iPhone or Android) that is connected to the internet. In this way, WhatsApp Web will be able to become independent from a network and the platform will compete directly with other exclusive desktop services.
How to stop receiving WhatsApp notifications?
The vacation mode changed its name weeks before being implemented in the official versions of WhatsApp; however, its operation is identical to what was planned from the beginning: allowing the user to block notifications only for some specific conversations.
The function changed its name to something more precise: keep chats archived, so that once we send any conversation, whether group or individual, to that section, it will remain there even if we receive new messages.
So you can have two different WhatsApp accounts on the same phone
WhatsApp has become an essential app for anyone in both the work and personal environment, which forces many to have two phones, one for each environment. However, if you want to avoid carrying two mobiles with you, WhatsApp has a trick to use two accounts on the same device.
Although the mobile phone market is currently dominated by Dual SIM phones. This does not necessarily imply that with this feature we can use WhatsApp with two different phone numbers. To solve this problem we can resort to a trick that is quite simple.
