WhatsApp announced another novelty before the end of September. During the course of this year, the messaging platform has presented a large number of new functions, including the following: multi-device mode, audio playback at twice the speed, temporary messages, photo downloads in the best resolution (HD), etc. Now, the company is preparing a new tool to search for businesses near your location. Do you want to know how it works? We will explain it below.
The director of WhatsApp, Will Cathcart, revealed to the technology medium Reuters, that soon users will have the ability to find all the businesses closest to their location point, of course, as long as these micro-companies use WhatsApp Business.
The company executive informed that at the moment the tool will be available only in the Brazilian city of São Paulo, however, Cathcart assured that the ideal candidates to test this function could be Indonesia and India.
HOW YOU LOOKED FOR NEARBY BUSINESSES ON WHATSAPP
It is a directory based on location, something similar to what Telegram has to find other nearby users from where you are, although on WhatsApp you will only see businesses that use the Business version. It is important to clarify that the businesses are going to be separated by categories: restaurants, shops, or local services.
Because WhatsApp has end-to-end encryption, the executive announced that the app will not have access to the companies you see, much less your location. “ (The system is) the main way to start a trade process on WhatsApp. (…) Like everything we do, we have created it privately ”.
Do you have a problem with WhatsApp? Do you need to report it? If you have any kind of problem, then you should write to your contact email: [email protected] or [email protected]. You can also make the same request from your iPhone through the exclusive service for iOS.
Now, if you need to make a general query, you can fill in the form using this link. There you just have to put your phone number, in addition to the code of your region, and then write your message after identifying yourself.
