Telegram Web Z and Web K: what are they and how do they work?

Telegram has become WhatsApp’s direct competition thanks to its particular functions that surpass, in many opportunities, the application developed by Meta.

This has forced Telegram to present various alternatives for various formats of use by users. In other words, the company of Russian origin has worked to develop the adaptability of the platform on smartphones, PCs or Tablets.

Under this premise comes Telegram Web Z and Telegram Web K, “two clients” of Telegram that present alternate versions of the application for use on both smartphones and PCs.

What are they?

The Telegram WebZ and WebK apps were released with nearly identical features, but with some design differences. Telegram presented it at the same time, after a contest, with the aim of generating internal competition between the developers behind both platforms that have the official blessing.

Both apps work equally well on mobile and desktop devices, according to the company. These apps look modern and come with features like animations, dark mode, as well as different stickers than the main version of the platform.

Both Telegram WebZ and Telegram WebK are listed under the “Web Apps” subheading on the company website.

How to use them?

You can use both web apps by going to the Telegram website and looking for the Web Apps section on the ‘Applications’ page > Here, click on Telegram WebZ or Telegram WebK and users should be redirected to the site.

Once on the WebZ or WebK site, users can log into their accounts with their credentials or a QR code scan with their phones, similar to how WhatsApp Web works.

What are the differences between both?

Despite their similarities, there are small differences that, depending on the user, can be defining.

In this sense, according to specialized sites, Telegram Web Z takes a better position due to its greater commitment to innovation. However, below you will know the characteristics that differentiate one from the other:

1. Group chat: Telegram Web Z has functions such as a List of deleted users, Edit administrator privileges or managing the list of deleted users. For its part, Telegram Web K allows you to add users to groups.
2. Channels: Telegram Web K does not have functions such as pinning conversations or editing administrator permissions, nor does it allow editing the message signature. In this section, Telegram Web K does not have any advantages or features compared to Web Z.
3. Chat and Joint Files: Telegram Web K has an enhanced media player option or the option to view voice memos within the media we’ve sent. With the Web version, K will also allow us to select multiple messages to copy. For its part, Web Z has the possibility of zooming in on the photographs that we send you.
4. Stickers and Emojis: Telegram Web Z is capable of showing the original sender when we forward it and also allows us to view and edit favourite stickers. In contrast, Web K allows us to configure Emoji suggestions.

It is important to note that the objective of Telegram with these alternate versions is to encourage internal competition, so it is likely that each day they will be updated with more functions between both applications, making more differences.
