Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra appears on Geekbench with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor

Less and less is missing for the official arrival of the new high-end series Samsung Galaxy S22. Although this family of mobiles from the South Korean firm will have up to three models, the most prominent will be the Galaxy S22 Ultra, of which more details have just been known.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, which could be called the Galaxy S22 Note, was spotted on Geekbench in the month of November with the model designation SM-S908B, Exynos 2200, and 8GB RAM. Now, the variant powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 has also appeared in the reference database, with the model code SM-S908N and SM-S908U.

Both of the leaked phones run Android 12, but the former would have 10GB of onboard RAM and the latter 8GB. An insider recently claimed that the Galaxy S22 Ultra will have two RAM options, 12GB and 16GB, so we’ll have to wait for more sources to verify this bit to be sure.

Compared to the Exynos 2200 variant, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 model performed better in Geekbench’s single-core tests, scoring 1,219 individual points, while the Exynos 2200 unit achieved 691 points.

However, there is not much difference between the multi-core performance of the two devices, as the S22 Ultra with Exynos 2200 technology registered 3,167 points, while the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 variant obtained 3,154 points.

There’s no word from Samsung yet on the Galaxy S22 series, but rumors claim that the lineup would be unveiled on February 8, 2022, at a Galaxy Unpacked event, with sales starting 10 days later.
