Musk mocks Zuckerberg’s metaverse, saying, “Nobody wants a fucking screen on their face all day.”

The world’s richest man stated that he does not believe people would desert the actual world in favour of a virtual one.

Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla and SpaceX, is unimpressed and dismisses the term “metaverse” invented by Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta (formerly Facebook). The world’s richest billionaire is sceptical that we will all vanish into this hyper-virtual world very soon.

“I don’t see somebody tying a damn screen to their faces all day,” Musk stated when questioned about the ecology in an interview with The Babylon Bee. “I’m not sure whether I necessarily believe this about the metaverse,” he said, “but people talk to me about it a lot.”

Elon Musk also stated that he does not envisage a future in which people want to remain in the virtual world that is driving corporations such as Target and Zuckerberg. Furthermore, he does not believe that people will forsake the actual world in favour of a virtual one, particularly with a screen on their face.

“You know, when I was younger, it was always said, ‘don’t sit too near to the screen, it will damage your view,’ and now the television is practically here” (puts his hands to his face). What? “Is that healthy for you?” Musk joked about the strangeness of having a screen that near to your face for extended periods of time.

In his perspective, Neuralink, Musk’s neurotechnology business, is a better option than virtual reality spectacles. “In the long term, a sophisticated Neuralink may totally immerse you in virtual reality,” he claims.

Neuralink is attempting to develop human-brain-machine interactions. The company’s major goal is to implant brain implants in humans in order to repair and increase physical abilities utilising computers.

Musk’s remarks on the metaverse came after Facebook changed its name to ‘Meta’ earlier this year in order to promote the concept. According to Zuckerberg, this is a far more authentic and natural manner of using the internet.
