iPhone 13: what are the differences between the new model and the iPhone 12?

The presentation of the new iPhone 13 series raised doubts about its differences with the iPhone 12, and here we explain which are, and which are not.

This September 14, the developer of smart devices Apple presented its most recent creation: the iPhone 13, the new generation of smartphones with the iOS system.

Through the California Streaming virtual event , Apple listed all the functions, tools and changes in the design, as well as in the operating system, of the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Mini , iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.

However, not all netizen reactions were positive. Many began to wonder how different the new added models are from the old iPhone 12 series , introduced in 2020.

Displays went from 60HZ to 120HZ with the iPhone 13

One of the novelties that come with the iPhone 13 is the use of 120 Hertz LTPO technology , something that was not seen in its predecessor, the iPhone 12. However, this higher number of images per second when refreshing the phone will be available only for the top range of the iPhone 13, that is, the Pro and Pro Max models.

What will be present in the four phones is the OLED screen sponsored by LG, which have the highest quality on the market, due to the fact that they have a light emitting diode for each pixel; that is, on these screens you will see the most absolute black colors.

Another significant difference is the maximum brightness that the screens of the new generation of smartphones will be able to reach. Compared to the iPhone 12, this time users will be able to enjoy 28% more brightness, a feature that will make outdoor use much easier. This advance is made possible by the 1,200 nits included in the display technology.

As for the number of inches that Apple’s latest phone introduces, things haven’t changed much. The iPhone 13 mini maintains the 5.4 inches of the previous models, and the iPhone 13 remains with the 6.1 inches present in the iPhone 12. The same happens with the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max.

The iPhone 13 series has a completely new processor

At the California Streaming event, the presence of a new processor for this generation of smartphones was announced: the Apple A15 Bionic . During the presentation, the hosts indicated that the processor has 15,000 million transistors distributed among its six cores, of which two are for high performance and four are for energy savings. The A15 Bionic is also 50% faster than the Apple A14 Bionic of its predecessor, the iPhone 12.

Not only that, but the GPU has gone through an update as well. The new graphics card is capable of running 15.8 trillion operations per second, according to Apple, and is 30% faster than the previous generation.

New models have bigger graphic sensors

Apple made a leap when it comes to photographic technology with its iPhone 13 , which comes with the largest sensor ever made by the company. With a total of 12.2 megapixels of resolution, in addition to pixels of 1.7 micrometers on the side, the models are capable of capturing an amount of light not previously seen. The main camera includes a large aperture f / 1.6 lens and a focal length of 26 millimeters, also present in the iPhone 12 .
